And the curtain rises for Opera Kitchen…(and the first post)

Opera Kitchen is the newly opened canteen style eatery located in between the Opera House and Opera Bar at Circular Quay.

Now DO NOT stop reading just because you heard the word ‘canteen’, Opera Kitchen is far from your school canteen memories. Opera Kitchen plays host to: Justin North's Becasse bakery and Charlie and Co Burgers, Cloudy Bay, Kenji Nishinakagawa's sushi bar, and the Sydney dumpling queen herself, MissChu. The great variety of offerings is fabulous for those of us who hate to pick just one thing.

We chose the Shanghai Pork Dumplings, Duck Pancakes all from MissChu and then the delicious Wagyu burger with parmesan and truffle fries (all to share). Miss Chu's delights were the firm favourite, with the dumplings satisfying all cravings.

The food is a little exy when compared with the original eateries – Miss Chu dumplings are $9.50 compared to the normal $5 at Darlinghurst. Although, the inflated prices can be ignored when you remember that you are sitting on prime Sydney real estate, with the country's two biggest icons surrounding you.

And if that isn’t enough to get you down to Opera Kitchen.... Then the dreamy waiters who serve a delicious cocktail or two should.
